Tips for using mental health insurance benefits
Before using your mental health insurance benefits, we recommend that you take the following actions:
Call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card
Ask for a list of mental health providers in your area; you may request male or female providers as well.
Ask about specific coverage (number of sessions, co-pay, and how much insurance will pay).
Your family doctor is another resource you can use to find mental health provider. Ask them for a referral or name(s) of providers to consider.
RPS Counselors, School Social Workers, School Psychologists, and our Behavior and Mental Health team are available to support students and families with mental health questions or concerns.
If you have questions or are facing challenging times, don't hesitate to call or stop in the Guidance Office for support. Your school counselors can be your first stop when concerns arise.
