
Our staff hosted a taco potluck lunch for our graduating seniors and their families! Students worked hard to reach this milestone and we're glad we could celebrate it. Our first-ever ALC student/family art class was a hit! Special thank you to @ArtOnTheGo for the step-by-step painting instruction. It was pretty special to see all of the positive energy, smiles, and family time engaged in art.






The revamping of the ALC School Garden is underway! HUGE thank you to our student and community volunteers for their hard work. Special shout out to the CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) team and United Way for their help.







Every year, 5th graders across Rochester Public Schools participate in a Track & Field event. Volunteers help to make it happen, including ALC students who helped to run the stations! Special shoutout to Toppers Pizza for donating a pizza lunch for our student volunteers!











Our May Monthly Wellness Activity involved fresh flower planting! So many beautiful colors... Happy Spring!










Oxbow 2025! Students played volleyball, hiked, tossed a football, learned about deer and elk, walked through the zoo, and socialized over a grilled lunch in nature. We especially loved hearing all of the laughter on the nature playscape!


Students have been experiencing weekly footgolf at Willow Creek Golf Course! Great job learning a new sport and skills!




Congratulations to Mrs. Amy Petersilie for earning her Masters in Social Work (MSW) and Licensed Graduate Social Work (LGSW) degree! She was part of the school-based mental health scholars program and balanced teaching and furthering her education these past two years. What an achievement!


The ALC was recently awarded a large grant through the BRIDGE (Building Resilience in Development, Growth, and Education) Collaborative. The funds will help to sustain and grow our community garden. Students, staff, and community volunteers (@FirstAlliance, @UnitedWay) have been busy assembling raised beds, utility carts, and other garden equipment to get our growing season underway!







ALC students had the opportunity to sign up for FREE senior photos this year! Thank you to Sejal Dave for volunteering her time and services... and for helping to capture this special moment in our seniors' lives!





We're halfway through Teacher Appreciation Week, and it's been full of joy! We have loved seeing all the celebrations, from a giant chicken outside a building to chalk art, treats, high fives, and hugs! RPS schools are showing huge love for our teachers! Thank you for everything you do for our students! We appreciate you!


Rochester Public Schools (RPS) today announced that the four-year graduation rate for the Class of 2024 reached 86%, according to data released by the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE). This marks a 2.0 percentage point increase from the Class of 2023 (84%) and represents the highest graduation rate the district has achieved in the past six years. The Mayo Clinic Bloodmobile was at the ALC last week. We had 22 registered donors from the ALC and they collected 12 units. Just 1 donation helps save up to 3 lives – that's 36 people ALC staff and students helped save! Many of our students are first-time donors who go on to donate long after. Thank you, Mayo Clinic, for coming on-site!


Our Earth Science/English block class created May baskets today! Happy Spring!



Our YouthBuild students have been busy learning construction skills through real-world projects. Thank you, Workforce Development, for this opportunity!
