Postsecondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) is a program that allows 10th, 11th, and 12th-grade students to earn both high school and college credit while still in high school through enrollment in and successful completion of college courses. PSEO students are not charged tuition, books, or fees for items required to participate in a course.

Our ALC College/Career/Military Fair was a success! Thank you to all of our community partners for sharing educational and career opportunities with our families and students. A special shout out to Mrs. Petersilie for coordinating this event.
Our students' art is currently on display! Each piece is accompanied by a written reflection. Parents/caregivers and our community partners are welcome to visit and browse the pieces. You can leave students notes about their work on comment cards. They appreciate these! Thank you to our art teacher, Mrs. Zaccariello, for guiding them.

It was heart-warming to the see the students' and parents' faces as they listened. It's not always easy to accept compliments, but ALC students, we SEE you and BELIEVE in you! Open to ALC families! Get FREE help with: legal, medical, employment, taxes, and photo ID info. PLUS 40+ community organizations will have tables to share resources. FREE lunch and haircuts are available, too. The event is this Friday, January 24, 10-2pm, at Riverside Elementary.
The Reptile & Amphibian Discovery Zoo (RAD Zoo) brought live animals and a presentation to our Animal Science class! The students had an opportunity to learn about a variety of animals and zookeeping, ask questions, and even a pet a few! Thank you for this partnership!
We love our partnership with ROCA! Students are learning new skills, gaining confidence, and encouraging each other along. Thank you to Ms. Holmes for writing a grant to help cover climbing fees. The ROCA Climbing Gym is one option our students can sign up for on our Student-Centered Learning Wednesdays. We bring enrichment activities right into the school day to open up opportunity and access for our students.
The ALC has partnered with the Rotary Club to bring the STRIVE program to our school. Seniors are matched with adult mentors and connect regularly to learn real-life skills, talk about future plans, and for life checks. Today, Mrs. Petersilie led participants in a "Let's Make a Deal" simulation, where students learned about decision-making. At the end, they reflected on how we make choices and take risks in our real lives. Grateful for this partnership and Mrs. Petersilie's leadership!
Tilson's Auto Repair is generously donating a portion of their January sales to the ALC. Funds will be used to support enrichment opportunities for our students, like boxing, self-defense, music, art, state park programs, and STEM activities. Tilson's does so much for this community. We appreciate this partnership!

This program offers clinical experience and hands-on training at Mayo Clinic's downtown campus, running from late August through early June. Transportation is provided from Mayo, John Marshall, and Century High Schools! 🎓
